Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jun 06, 2011 6:06 pm Our ensuite has been guttered with a skylight installed as we bricked up the window but it is the smallest ensuite. It measures 2.4m long but only 90cm wide. It has a sliding door which opens just off the middle as originally a shower was up one end and the vanity the other end - I can't see any other way of doing the layout - does anyone have any other idea that I can't see ??? Re: Renovating a tiny tiny tiny ensuite 3Jun 07, 2011 5:16 pm It might be worth looking at caravans to see how much you can get in a small space. The USA Tumbleweed Houses site, which specialises in tiny houses, might also give you some ideas. there is a picture of a bathroom in a 180cm x 90cm space at this link http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/houses/lusby/ The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Renovating a tiny tiny tiny ensuite 4Jun 08, 2011 5:34 pm Small wall hung vanities can save alot of space Using a glass partition wall for the shower will give the illusion of more space too Can you show us any photos of the current floorplan? Holly Re: Renovating a tiny tiny tiny ensuite 5Jun 27, 2011 9:13 am The bathroom in Bashworth's link is a great example of a practical ensuite with minimal space. I would also do what Holly said and separate the shower with a solid glass partition - probably in milky white glass to add a bit of privacy, and a solid panel means that you aren't taking up space with doors opening. You mentioned that the door was in the middle - so I'm assuming that you mean of the 2.4m length. Shower and vanity to one end - or double vanity if it would fit straight in front of the door, and toilet to the other end. Second Time 'Round Re: Renovating a tiny tiny tiny ensuite 6Jul 14, 2011 10:38 am Some other tips for narrow ensuites include: Concealed cistern toilets (500 deep as opposed to 700 for a standard toilet). The cisterns are made to fit within a standard 90mm wall cavity. I have been quoted $1000 for pan, cistern and mechanism (Villeroy and Boch Sunberry) Recessed shaving cabinet above the vanity - cabinet is set into the wall, again utilising the space within the wall cavity Wall hung vanity (as already mentioned) these can be as narrow as 300. Alternatively you can do without the vanity and get a narrow wall mount basin. What you are looking at is fibrous plaster, true gypsum, it is cast on horizontal beds with fibers included to give strength. I has no Asbestos in it. Houses before 1985… 2 7121 Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6128 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11829 |
