Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 May 31, 2011 9:55 pm We have just gyrocked over a window in our bedroom. It was a doublehung window next to a fixed pane, which is still a window. Now can anyone suggest what to put over the window on the outside. The outside is a cream brick single storey home, early 70's vintage. I suggested rendered blue board or similar but my husband thinks it wont look good and he wants a single pane of coloured glass or putting tinted glass in the original window (YUK). I really dont want to replace the single pane window that is next to it either. The brick sill extends along both windows which I also dont want removed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Re: Replacing outside window with something else 2Jun 01, 2011 11:53 pm I dunno if I can be of much help but I like the blueboard idea better than the coloured glass. Whats your priorities with it, like, I suppose you cant match the 70's bricks anyway but do you want to keep costs down or do you want to keep the option of putting the window back later or what? And how visible is it, like can you make it a proper decorative feature or is it in a part of the house where it will just look patched whatever you do with it, IYKWIM?
