About to embark on my first renovation journey http://ashbyproject.blogspot.com.au/
Hi There,

I found this blog which is quite good http://www.younghouselove.com/.

I've also been inspired to start a blog to keep us motivated through our first home DIY renovation. We're also using it to keep our friends who are O.S and interstate in the loop about our progress. We hope that we will end up with some handy tips that can be shared all around.
here's our blog...only one entry so far www.ourfunkylittleshack.com
Hi
We're also blogging our Reno adventures http://whitewallsandsunflowers.wordpress.com. We might be a little crazy, we have three on the go currently which we are doing for investment & planning our next buy to be a long term home purchase.

Look forward to reading all your blogs and posts in the forum, thanks for sharing.

My wife and I are extending and renovating an old post-war home in Sydney. We're managing tradies as owner builders and doing about 60% of the work ourselves. Check out our blog. http://timandkatiesrenovationdiary.blogspot.com.au/
Looks good. I'll be following!
Hi, old member new account. I had a building blog previously now I'm renovating so will add this here too.

please excuse the typo and grammatical error
Some great work guys - takes a lot of dedication, I could never put up with the headstuff of home renovation myself.
Great blogs guys!

We are renovating at the moment and documenting the whole process via my blog and video on my YouTube account. I have a thread going here called "The Small Space Big Build Project", check it out when you get a chance and let me know what you think. Here is the link to some of the videos - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL ... 07B4O7XYpU

Thanks guys, and happy renovating.

Best wishes, James Mason.
Hi All - well I used to post on here as MissVintage - I was young and idealistic and we were building our "forever house" however 7 years down the track it seems that our "forever house" just wasn't …. and we have a new plan for life including multiple renovations because hey - why not.

Well anyways we have just started a new blog to document our new journey into happiness - and this particular post i have just written outlines just how we experienced our renovation journeys to try and define just how we do what we do!

Anyways, glad to be back on the Homeone bandwagon - welcome all!

Hi all, I'm new to the forum but thought I'd comment on something. I went through some of these blogs and don't really see anything I would subscribe to. I'm looking for a website that provides information to consumers, product reviews and where a handful of authors post.

Is there anything like that around?
Hi guys

Great to link up with and follow other home renovation blogs. I'll check yours out and follow. Here's one of my more recentosts on surviving renovations!

You can also follow me at https://www.facebook.com/SheBuildsAustralia where I'd love you to post your own renovation projects and Pictures too!

We in the process of home renovations in Melbourne Suburbs. Found this home builder Bek Homes, if any one dealt with them would be interested to hear.
I found these girls who buy houses and renovate them over a really short time and sell them for a profit. They just started putting videos up on youtube which is pretty good for ideas on cost saving materials and they seem to have a decent design aesthetic etc. I think they also have an instagram and website too.

Hi all! This seems like as good a place as any to say hello

I've been documenting the updates my partner and I have been doing to our plain jane weatherboard house at saltbushavenue.com. We both not-so-secretly prefer being out in the garden, so we might end up with a flash exterior and an average interior, haha. My blog is a mix of DIY, design and garden if anyone feels like having a look - I'll have to check out the others posted!
Hello everyone,
I thought I would add my renovating and design blog http://abeauthome.com.au/ It's about our renovation progress and I blog about interior design and styles I like around the web. Kinda at a standstill on our renovation now, need to sell our investment property to finish plus need more time. My husband (site supervisor) and I are doing all the design and renovation works. But after 6 months of slowly doing piece by piece and living in the reno - it's time to call in the contractors and get it done. Pencilling in for February 2016. I really need to do a blog post about the realities of a live in renovation -with 2 kids under 4 -- um not fun... oh well ya live and learn.

Looking through this thread now to add more blogs to my reading list. yay, talk soon xx
Here it is - http://www.serpentinehouse.com/blog/sophisticated-earthy-serpentine-stone-exterior-coverings/ , a blog on an uncommon building material for exteriors - wall cladding, paving driveways. Hope you find it of your interest.

It describes the stone serpentine for both residential and commercial applications, which is non-porous, acid and abrasion resistant, and can withstand extreme weather conditions.

Would love to hear from you on how do you see this natural stone as a renovation option.
Hi all, I just wanted to add my renovation blog to the mix

It's called Home of marble and mint. Family of 5 living through a major extension and renovation. We've finally started!
HI all
These blogs are great on the renos, BUT as a property investor, if I know its a 'self done reno' when I walk into a listing, I purposely look for HUGE PRICE discounts. NO WAY will a self reno have work quality of finish be better than a competent tradies who (paints, carpenters, gyprocks etc) everyday. Self reno, fine, but if the goal is to sell at a profit, remove the blog before you goto market and sell the agent that all work completed by 'the best tradies'.
And stage the property to sell, nothing worse than seeing an empty terrace, or crowded living space at an open. Look around whats selling in your extended local realty market and reno / stage to your target. Also visit other opens and talk to the agent to give you ideas whats hot and whats not, eg quality benchtops are hot, lino is NOT.
