Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Mar 11, 2011 8:28 am Hi all, Just wondering about this situation. I have a brick vaneer extension (5mx6m) that was done in 1993 and it is in great condition but does not suit our lifestyle. We want to make the room bigger say 12 x 6m. Due to the difference in room design I would be planing to completely remove the roof and walls but what happens with the concrete slab? do I need to remove it or can we add to it ? How do you join old concrete slab to new? pins? or is it cheaper and simpler to completely remove the old 6x5m concrete slab and relay the new 12 x 6m from scratch? Yes I will get engineers in to asses but was wondering what the general consensus would be. My first post -any advice greatly appreciated.
