Re: Mattwalker's renovation project - The new house 22Mar 15, 2011 10:08 pm OK so it is time for the next update: LAUNDRY. So the original laundry was fairly simple ... it consisted of some taps, a trough and a broom cupboard from 1967. "twas nice" ... it did not really suit the house though! Well, that's already larger (by 25%) than our "very large" future pergola! And we were worried it would be too big ... We are adding a further triangle of 20 metres long 3 metres wide down to 500mm wide as the extension too It should be around 115 square meters undercover when we are done. Re: Mattwalker's renovation project - The new house 24Mar 16, 2011 6:30 am Matt, the laundry is now amazing!!! Was that a DIY job!?! Did you/"they" put any levelling under the tiles? Re: Mattwalker's renovation project - The new house 27Mar 16, 2011 9:43 am Its been a good unit d@n. We bought this about 6 years ago and it has never let us down. We though we had an issue a few weeks back but it turned out that the waste hose has to point upwards to work properly. Re: Mattwalker's renovation project - The new house 28Mar 16, 2011 10:15 am Just noticed ... is that a magnetic door stopper? If yes, how does it look on the wall side? I mean, how does one attach it onto tiles - especially when the skirting tile is some 20 cm high !!! I suppose there are only 2 options - either drill thru the tile or attach it above the tile - however high it might be and however weird that may look My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Mattwalker's renovation project - The new house 29Mar 16, 2011 7:48 pm Lex  Matt, the laundry is now amazing!!! Was that a DIY job!?! Did you/"they" put any levelling under the tiles? The tiles are absolutely amazing! How was that super levelness achieved when just on particleboard?? Some of both: Qualified trades for the jobs like plumbing / waterproofing / electrician but the rest is me! The floor was level before we laid the underlay (not so square though )which made the tiling job very easy. When it was time for the install I decided against drilling into the tile after killing 3 drill bits on other tiles throughout the house. (drilling porcelain is hard work!) The bench top is 1232 wide, the washing machine space is 660mm wide and the broom closet is 620mm wide. We had the cabinets made to the same height as the broom closet (2385 high) and we are still playing with the idea of inserting a bulk head across the top for the "built in" look. Hope that helps! Cheers, Matt Re: Mattwalker's renovation project - The new house 37Mar 27, 2011 1:49 pm mattwalker Hi smemily, Of course you can!
