I am going to repoint bricks and have to match with original mortar color. I checked old files about my house and found about the mortar. It only says "Brighton Light". I also checked some building forums and found that I can mix yellow sand with brighton lite if I want to make a creamy color mortar (4 sand:1 brighton lite). But, it is too light color and it does not match with my mortar. Our house brick is orange color and the mortar is creamy orange color (Please see the photo). I bought red brick sand and I mixed 4 yellow sand: 1 red brick sand : 1 brighton lite but it still surface is lighter than the original mortar when it gets dry, but the inside of the mortar is very close color if I snap the mortar off. Would you be able to give me an advice please?
