Extending already approved patio

We’ve got an approved concrete patio that’s under 25sqm. Building approvals in the ACT are required for a deck/patio over 25sqm.

I’m wanting to extend the patio to roughly 35sqm. Does anyone know if since the extension part is under 25sqm and the existing part is approved, whether this would be also be exempt? Or would they consider the whole porch area in the assessment?

If your patio is going to be 35 sqm then that's going to need Council Approval.
The fact that they previously approved your 25sqm patio will be irelevant
