Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Apr 14, 2023 10:56 am Hi All, I am in a situation to replace fencing on one of the sides with a neighbor. Currently I am doing knockdown rebuild about to complete in May. I have issued a fencing notice in May 2022 (before construction), to which they have not responded in writing. Although it was verbally agreed to do the work, no commitments were made from their side on cost sharing. The neighbor is a pain, complaining about their dog trying to get out through the temp fence and ask workers to stop at 5 pm etc regardless of no noises. At this stage, I am thinking of doing the fencing without asking them to share any cost if that makes the process easier. I mean what sort of minimum obligations I have to do if I am not seeking cost sharing? Do I still need to inform them given that I served a fence notice previously? or can I go ahead and do the work. Please share your experience and any idea , Thanks in advance! Re: NSW Fencing rules 2May 03, 2023 10:59 am It is hard to have neighbor such that, unfortunately you have to live next to them for now! (if you planning to live there). I probably try to speak with them directly and worth mention again to them that there no cost involve for them in regards to boundary fence (i am pretty sure 99% of neighbor will love that!). Just to show a good gesture from you as neighbor by going over their house. That's only my personal opinion.
