Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Sep 24, 2022 10:56 am Hi all, I have and old tiled roof on a main road with no sarking. I'm looking to add sarking "under" the rafters as I can't justify pulling all the tiles off to sark on top of rafters. The main purpose of the sarking is a partial moisture barrier for rain spray under the roof tiles as I have just noticed this issue as my ceilings are currently removed due to be replaced. I have also noticed a heap of road dust coming in under the tiles and building on ceiling. The sarking would also help this. The sarking can terminate on the double brick perimiter wall meaning minor moisture and dust can wash down on top of the brick rather than on my (new) ceiling insulation. Sure, it standard practice fixing under rafters but not as bad compromise. Thoughts? Building Standards; Getting It Right! Hi all Iām in VIC and had some storm damage in my garage a month ago.
