Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 May 27, 2022 10:23 am We have purchaed a 1926 home which has quite large rooms but not enough of them. Currently unsure if we will stay in the home for the long term or look for acres. in the mean time however we are needing to create either more rooms in the current house or potentially extend with a walk way joining the extension to the old home (save on cost of altering the roof line) current Floor plans of the home are as follows Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ If we were to just renovate the inside of the home without extending this is what were were thinking. This would mean we would still have a tiny main bathroom. Not sure where or how to put in a bigger main bathroom while having 4 bedrooms. Any suggestions would be appreciated.. Front of house faces north east. which is where the lounge/bedroom is Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ otherwise if we were to extend we would be looking at putting on a garage, kitchen living dine out the back with a deck as we love our deck. Just not sure how to lay that out. would be nice to have some of the deck undercover say a U shape design? We have a very large block 2200sqm in total. the current house is approx 12m wide and we have bit over 4m from the boundry fence on the current bathroom side. the other side we have about 5-6m wide so plenty of room for a garage under the roof. Depth wise we can go as deep as we want however it would come down to cost. currently thinking if we were to extend to put on a 19m wide by 8m deep rectangle and connect to the current house with a glass passage way??? Not really sure how much an extension would cost in country South Australia. Any approximations would be great. we would look at doing what ever work we can, eg installing kitchen/painting and laying hybrid flooring. So really just a building approx for just the frame work to lock up stage. here's a rough sketch but It still doesn't have a main bathroom. We really need a big main bathroom as the current one is approx. 2.1m x 1.5m its super tiny and squishy and not convenient with a family of 4 young kids. currently bathtub is in the laundry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thank you Re: 1926 home Renovation/Extensoin 2May 29, 2022 2:48 pm orangetree_82 We have purchaed a 1926 home which has quite large rooms but not enough of them.
