I'm relocating the entrance to a bedroom so looking to knock out the space for the door in an internal wall. Its not load bearing (running parallel to joists), the home was built in the 70s or so.
1) Ripped off some plasterboard and can see that it has some bracing on the studs. Is this normal for an internal wall? Do I need to make sure that this is replaced elsewhere on the wall if I need to remove this stud?
2) There seems to be a window header and jack stud in the frame on the right hand side. Or is this something else? Like I say its an internal wall so makes no sense if there was ever a window here, so wanted to check if this was something else I needed to know about before I keep ripping off plasterboard!
