Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jul 28, 2021 10:49 pm We are just about to get a verandah designed for our high-level house in the inland savannah tropics - i.e. always warm and long months of constant high temperatures and high humidity, along with frequent periods of very low wind. We want a fly roof to allow rapid exit of warm air and promote ventilation from below, which is in the process of being planted with shady cover to promote a cool underhouse area. Would be very interested to hear from anyone who can advise what considerations we should take into account, especially in relation to: 1) angle of fly roof (I'm assuming same as house roof) 2) offset from house roof, i.e. how high from house roof to fly roof 3) length of overlap, i.e. how far back over house roof the fly roof should go (bearing in mind we are subject to heavy rain and strong winds during the Wet (and will install large dish gutters on roof to prevent spillover onto verandah) Any tips, advice, etc. most appreciated.
