Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement Re: Brick exterior rennovation - help! 2Jul 12, 2021 8:14 pm liyaahl Hi everyone, We have just purchased a place which has an UGLY brick exterior. We're not against brick in principle, but this specific type of brick has a chipped look that we haven't seen anywhere before (see photos). Does anyone have any experience of working with this type of brick, or knows what it is even called? Ideally we would render over it but also open to cladding if easier/cheaper. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be done with it? Worst comes to worst, we just paint it but we'd prefer a clean finish. Any help much appreciated. Render - If you are in Sydney I can refer you to one of my guys who will give you great advice, but I wouldnt go this route 2. Lightweight cladding would be my preference. It would be quite easy to batten and wrap it, then clad in either a hardwood product like weathertex or one of the many FC products. I know a great guy who is can give you some good and free cladding advice. His name is Simon Hasham.
