Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Feb 12, 2021 1:37 pm Hi, we are in the Northern beaches council. Lodged DA for first floor addition (add storey) and council requested us to erect 4 height poles to assess view loss impact neighbour. I can get my surveyor to certify the poles - no problem here, however how do we go about erecting the poles up in the first place? 3 of them will need to be on our current roof. Steel? Timber? what trade do I call? Thank you in advance. Re: Erecting height poles to assess view loss impact 3Feb 20, 2021 2:50 pm Stewie D A carpenter. Just 100 x 50 poles , supported and braced back onto a plate fixed onto the roof. What type of roofing do you have? Stewie Thanks for the reply. We found a carpenter to do it. He actually used PVC pipes and braced it onto our tile roof. Unless the room is for storage then it's non compliant BCA V2 2019 S3 P3.8 You have 2 options 1.
