Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jan 31, 2021 7:23 am Hi there, We have a 1950’s low set house in Brisbane. We would like to raise and renovate, but have no idea where to start or even an idea of how much this is likely to cost. Someone suggested initially we need to get a building designer to do some plans, but I’m keen to get some general advice first, i.e whether the house is even in good enough condition to raise/whether it will be very cost effective versus us just knocking down and rebuilding. I’m keen to raise to avoid having to move out for such a long period and the option of having something a bit more unique. Does anyone know which kind of company I should approach to get some general advice on options/idea of costs, or should I be looking to get designs done in the first instance? Many thanks!
