Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Dec 25, 2020 12:48 pm We've had oak engineered floor boards installed. They were prefinished but a coating of the Bona finishing oil was also applied. Originally I was informed the boards would be raw and the Bona oil was recommended as the finish to use. But when the shipment finally arrived it was prefinished. After installing the boards, the floor layer then applied the finishing oil coat. My concerns are the boards now have a plastic look and feel to them. Do prefinished boards need an extra finishing coat applied? Re: Finishing of Engineered Timber floors 2Dec 25, 2020 2:43 pm No. That is the whole point of them being pre-finished. The manufacturers have produced a finish that is complete. You install and walk away. But I'm not sure… 3 6163 Building Standards; Getting It Right! Don't think they are designed for double brick. WA has a particular way of building and unfortunately that's the way a large amount of sills are finished. 3 7014 |
