Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Dec 06, 2020 11:07 am Hi, I'm just looking for some input/advice on if these walls highlighted on attached plan could be removed. We are hoping to open up the kitchen and change the layout from a L shape to a straight run with island bar. The oven is going to be relocated, floors re-tiled, roof will be re sheeted and corniced in kitchen section. Will i need to apply to the council to do this change to the house layout? Im a cabinet maker so will be removing the walls, building kitchen and tiling my self, ill just have trades in to do the gyprock and electrical. Any advice would be very appreciated. Regards Rob. Re: Domestic House wall removal Queensland. 3Dec 13, 2020 7:42 am Your trusses would only rest on the top plates of the outside walls so it would be safe to assume that those walls you want to remove wouldn't be load bearing. Climb up into your roof space to have a look before proceeding.
