Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Oct 20, 2012 5:10 pm We have a flat roof which we'd like to replace. There is a slight pitch of maybe 2 degrees....We would like to replace this with either steel or timber roof trusses (25 degree pitch) and obviously new sheeting/tiles. Approx 300 sq m home Anyone have any idea of reasonable costs involved in doing this? Re: Replacing flat roof for trusses 2Oct 21, 2012 7:26 am wont be cheap. apart from demo. trusses likely 6000 plus a grand or so to install and a new roof 12000, but this is so ballparky. i dont know the size, shape etc. probably more than you think. why not lift the tin, use graduated battens to alter the pitch, then try and use same iron? Re: Replacing flat roof for trusses 3Oct 22, 2012 12:33 pm Pretty easy to work out. Do a scale drawing of the plan outline of your house with the measurements shown for all the external walls ( show the eaves too as a dotted line. Get a quote from a truss company to supply only or supply and install the trusses. Get a quote from a carpenter to do all the fascias and eaves as per your plan. Get a quote from a tiling or sheet metal roofing company to tile the new roof. All these should be easy to get. Stewie Yes the knot that missing and split on the end. Turns out it needs rectification. 6 3083 I would suggest you simply go and talk to council about your proposal, most councils are getting onboard with ancillary dwellings. There is no benefit in keeping it… 1 4474 |
