One of the other option we thought of last night was leaving the tub but getting rid of the linen cupboard which I think might save us a bit of $$ . The red box in the picture is the new toilet and the grey shape is the sink and we thought we could replace the current door with a pocket door option (black shape) . Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ you don't need a drawing program just an accurate plan of the spaces showing precise length of all walls including location and size of existing windows and a better understanding of spaces needed for any changes...eg there needs to be at least 80 x 80 floor space for a toilet (to allow for knees and shoulder/elbows) plus at least 80cms walking distance between the toilet and the sink...the bathroom doorway needs to be at least 82 cms wide and a swing door only needs about 82 width plus necessary floor space to open into while a cavity sliding door needs double that width to allow for cavity for the door to slide into into and that would mean having to rebuild the whole wall up to the laundry door (hoping that there could be enough length to slide the door into that wall space??) and, keeping in mind that there should also be an extra handbasin for the separate toilet....any changes can be predicted by making a paper plan and scale sized shapes to represent the bath, shower, basins and toilet and rearrange to suit yourselves and, as long as there is at least 80cms walkway in front of every fixture it should be ok...it's not possible to make a successful new bathroom cheaply and you should also check with your local council to make sure that any changes are made within local regulations.. another option could be like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ but you need accurate dimensions and very careful choice of fixtures to allow enough walking and standing room and we haven't even discussed the floor so you should consult a plumber before doing anything ...best of luck with your plans I'm arranging renovations to be performed on my house, which involve replacing the kitchen and laundry, adding a new ensuite, removing a non-structural wall and raising a… 0 94430 4 58509 For the tiles, painting or resurfacing could save you a ton if they’re in decent shape.
