Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Sep 22, 2022 6:03 pm I am currently looking at property that needs re-blocking. The house is on its original timber stumps from 1957. It was originally a weatherboard home and has had a layer of bricks added sometime later as a veneer (leaving the original weatherboards underneath). Firstly, what are the disadvantages of the weatherboard behind the brick veneer? Are there any? Secondly, in terms of re-blocking and re-stumping what are the average expected costs for a 3 bedroom home (obviously varies depending on material prices and other latent conditions)? The house is low to the ground and I assume some floorboards may need to be lifted for easier access. Is re-blocking/re-stumping necessary if I am willing to live with the sloping floors for the time-being? Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
