Re: Our Remodel - Wallpaper nightmare! 5May 25, 2011 11:21 am We have no idea what were gonna do with the kitchen! Wood grain laminate with yellow benchtop and splashback!! Dunno what they were thinking at the time. Maybe it was the trend back in the day haha. I will have to post pictures of the wallpaper in the bathroom later tonight. Its def really 'retro'.. Re: Our Remodel - Wallpaper nightmare! 6May 25, 2011 11:26 am Hi Joles i'll find out tonight what the grey is. Its got alot of black tint in it so it doesnt look grey because we originally used 'grey urban' or something like that by dulux, but it looked purple in our room. So we took it back and they said it had alot of magenta tint in it. So we asked for a grey with a mostly black tint so it didnt look any other colour but grey! haha Re: Our Remodel - Wallpaper nightmare! 8May 25, 2011 1:35 pm Well done Blues, what a difference. The before pictures show a house I would call has 'Great Bones" and good on you for seeing the end result when you brought it. If I were 20 years younger it would have been a dream of mine to do exactly as you are. Fantastic job with the lounge it looks light with your paint colours and furniture looks really nice, cant wait to see what you do next - dont forget the piccies. Love your wall art, where do get it from? Also floorboards look great, are they a laminate? Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. My gf wants to go and show her the pics but im scared it will her a heart attack seeing what we have done haha Ring once we seen it we knew it had potential but needed alot of work. But that was the type of house we wanted so we could make it our own. The art was actually from sams warehouse...crazy clarks kinda shop..was only $39 haha. The floors are bunnings laminate, i've read people having bad experiences with bunnings flooring but i hope were one of the lucky ones! We next need to put on the skirting, mount the tv then create an inbuilt dvd unit thing where that hole in the wall is. It will have some sliding timber screens as a door..then add more fixtures to the room then the loungeroom will be done!...then we encounter the rest of the house Re: Our Remodel - Wallpaper nightmare! 11May 25, 2011 2:09 pm [quote="blues87"]Rajan the previous owner was an old woman who's now in a nursing home. We have laminate timber floors in our house and have not had a problem with them. Good luck with the rest of the house. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Left it for 10 mins or so then scraped it all off. more pics to come Re: Our Remodel - Wallpaper nightmare! 14May 28, 2011 12:44 pm Loving the pics. Got alot of work ahead of you but such rewards. I blame the cold weather andwanting to do other things on the weekend other than reno'ing! We got some new lights for both the dining room and loungeroom which just take the house to the 21st century. For the dining room we just got a simple rail light. We just wanted something that was just a clean and modern. Nothing to flashy. We bought an old tv unit from the salvos for $60 and put some shelving in it and turned it into a buffet. Not bad for $60 really! Here are some before and after pics of the dining room as per the moment. before: pls note that mural thing on the wall is actually wallpaper! Now I mentioned earlier about the wallpaper in the bathroom. Here it is in all its glory! I'm loving your nice clean lines that you are doing and cant wait to see a pick of the dining room done. Your flooring looks great, would you mind sharing what it is e.g. laminate/timber and the colour. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011.
