We are going to have an awning window in the powder room because we want to keep it open all the time, even when it rains. So far so good. Now the question is if an awning window with a locked chainwinder is secure enough in this context or maybe we should install a security screen. In case of awning windows you can only install security screens on the inside and they look horribly.

Is it possible to have the window high up and fairly small to make it hard for anyone to get through it?
You can lock the window in the open position and use a retractable fly screen on the inside, although I don't know if you can get a retractable screen that you can lock....but if the window is small it makes it hard for intruders to get through.
