Thank you Re: Digital Door Locks 22Feb 25, 2019 11:57 am I know this is an old thread, but to anyone who stumbles across this thread via a search (like I did), a quick note on insurance: You can have a digital deadbolt lock and keep your existing or get a new home insurance cover. Some providers may have a “key operated” clause attached to their deadbolt requirement (although mine doesn’t), but that doesn’t generally mean you can’t have a cover without one, in the worst case your premium may go up a little for not satisfying their deadbolt criteria. I recently installed a Samsung digital deadbolt lock and called my insurer, they said its ok. They didn’t make a distinction between manual key operated vs digital. I was told that as long as it is a deadbolt (not a spring bolt with a handle connected to the locking mechanism) and it can be locked from both sides it qualifies. But having said that, for anyone who has doubts, call your insurer for clarification. 920 was enough to get the furniture in.
