Browse Forums Safer Living 1 May 20, 2008 9:27 pm Recently a friend of mine told me that if I have to install a home alarm system for my coming single story home, it is better to choose a wired alarm system over the wireless alarm system. He said that the wireless alarm system are less efficient than the wired system, is that true?
Beside, I am struggling choosing a reliable home alarm system. There are heap of alarm systems in the market, but not sure which one are the best. Can you guys give me some comment on the below products and how much did you got them to set up? - Bosch Solution 16 plus - Crow PW8 - Hills NS - RACV - Chubbs Thank you. [/quote] Re: Home Alarm System 2Aug 23, 2008 12:15 pm Depends which system the providers are going to install and how good their PIR are. If the use cheap unreliable PIR's your going to get alarms all the time.

Cheers, Tort Go for the NX alarm, depending on the size of the house you would probably only need an 8 zone panel maybe 12 if u have a big house. Any alarm system will do the job just as long as you get some pet sensors, try some honeywell pet sensors, we install these and have no issues with them. Actually, if you plan to install them by yourself, you may buy the security alarm system with LCD keypad. In my experience, alarm system with LED keypad is very hard to setup and install for DIY user. If you don't want to re-paint your house, you'd better go wireless.
