Browse Forums Safer Living 1 Aug 24, 2012 12:26 pm Hi We are building a new house and are looking to get the Ness M1 security system installed. Is anyone able to recommend a Ness M1 installer that they have used in Melbourne? I know that I get a list of installers by contacting Ness but was hoping to get names of installers that people on the forum have used and recommend. Thanks for your help. Ness M1 Gold Security Installer in Melbourne 3Oct 05, 2012 6:44 am The M1 is a much more complex beast that the standard Ness alarms. Judging by the lack of responses I think you will need to contact Ness for recommendations. It is important that you have some ideas on what you are wanting to achieve before you speak to the installer so that they can give you the right advice and system configuration. I have installed my own M1 and I am happy to offer advice on what you can do with the system. Paul Re: Ness M1 Gold Security Installer in Melbourne 4Oct 05, 2012 8:08 am Thanks paulw11. We have since found a handful of installers that we've been able to talk to to make sure it can do what we want it to. I saved quite a bit by importing an Elk M1 (exactly the same beast) and keypads from the U.S. try www.automatedoutlet.com - create an account and you will see lower prices. The shipping was quite high but with the strong $A and the lower US prices it still worked out considerably cheaper. The only things I purchased locally were the power supply and battery and the wireless interface and remote controls (as these need to meet Australian regulations) and a battery can't be air freighted. Paul It's all about wireless, self install now. The cost/benefit of wired setups for the house are no longer what they used to be. Lots of wireless options.
