We are building next to a large open area of land that is undeveloped (airfield) and likely to remain that way. Problem is that our house is on the outskirts of the development and although we wont have back neighbours, we are a bit concerned that we could have snakes coming into our yard.
Is there anything that we can do to keep them away i.e. would it help to reinforce under the fence and is it true that lizards deter snakes .
We also have a creek on the other side of the fence and it looks like ripe snake country.
The local primary school has already been visited by 6 brown snakes this year .
BTW please dont tell me to stand still if I see one in the yard. I don't think I am capable.
This thread could be moved into landscaping but I really reckon it is about safer living
