PIR's by it self good enough? Should one get glass breaker detector? Concept of nightlight too fancy? Your thoughts please. Is this system or quote any good? PIR or REED Sesnsors? 3Jan 11, 2012 3:31 pm Hi You can add reed switches to the doors for extra protection. If you always use the keyfobs then it doesn't matter much, but if you want to disarm with the keypad then you need an entry delay. Without reed switches the movement sensors near the door then you need this delay. If you have a reed then some systems allow you to configure so that the movement sensor is instant unless the door is opened first. I am not sure if the Bosch system does this. I would add a reed switch to the garage door so that the alarm will sound if someone tries to force the door. Also get the system set up so that you can partially arm it at night to protect the garage. I wouldn't worry about the glass break sensor. Re: Is this system or quote any good? Hunt around, get multiple quotes, play them against each other. For the exact same system i got quotes of $1950 to $1200. Re: Is this system or quote any good?
