Browse Forums Safer Living 1 May 29, 2011 11:42 am We brought an old house about 2 years ago with a pre-existing alarm system. The previous owners (who were really unhelpful) had no idea what the master code was and just gave us the regular one they had been using (or, more precisely, their renters had been using. Yup, safe!). There are few details on the alarm itself and the 'security' stickers around the house are from a firm that has gone out of business. Recently the alarm system as been playing up - going off for no reason, unable to switch off etc and we want to replace it with a new one. We don't have enough money to try and call someone in and want to replace the alarm ourselves. How do we even start? The alarm has a control box by the door and sensors in the rest of the house. I don't think the 'guts' or main operational part is in that control box though. There is a small white box with some large cables running from it behind the microwave that we think may be involved. Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. I am sure they might know what a typical wiring structure for your current alarm should look like. You can take it from there. small white box with large cables probably sounds like control box. If there is power supply next to that box (connected) then I assume that should be the 'operational' part of your alarm system. Re: I want to disconect and replace my alarm - No user manua 4Aug 17, 2011 5:36 pm Sometimes moisture in the external blue light box will set the alarm off. Give us a brand name, someone can find a manual online. You can then reset the pin code using the current pin you have in your posession. ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 7755 Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10228 |
