What's new in the world of security?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any new sucurity products?

In our current house we have motion detectors, which are always off, as I get up during the night to get the babies, and we have a dog.... so they are fairly useless.

Anyone installed anything exciting and easy to use?

Guess the first question is what are you trying to protect against?
You can fit sensors on windows and doors. So that if they are opened it will trigger an alarm. The motion detection part is disabled, which leaves you free to roam around your house as normal.

This isn't exactly new, but there are wireless sensors available which makes it easier to retrofit.
