Browse Forums Safer Living Re: Alarm Options - 4 X 2 in perth 2Sep 06, 2010 2:19 pm Did mine with ADT. It has main door open sensor & 2 motion detectors in the house. I paid $30plus monthly for remote monitoring. If alarm triggers, they will contact me to inform. I have the option of checking them myself (or friends) or they could sent their security with expense. Alarm also has emergency button that operator will call back if pressed. A mate just did his place with similar setup and connects the alarm to his personal mobile if triggered. Virtually no monthly cost. Just that you will need friends and neighbors to help to look out if you are away. Re: Alarm Options - 4 X 2 in perth 3Sep 06, 2010 5:06 pm I have a Ness security system installed by a friend who is a licensed security system installer (important). I have a 4 bedroom house with the Front Door and Laundry Door both reed switched and PIR sensors in the Main Bedroom, Lounge Room, Family Room and Bedroom hallway. All up plus LCD keypad with two slimline strobes and two remote keys for $600 or so just for equipment. This unit allows you to turn the alarm on and off before you even enter the house and has a call function that sends an alert direct to your mobile. Just do your research and get quotes on a system because installers can load you with a whole lot of s**t that you really don't need. Our house is a 4 * 2 in perth - no kids or pets on a 520 Sqm block... Thanks in advance for your help!!!! you have two options, an alarm system for cheap rates but you will need to sign up for monitoring for 2 -5 years (ADT, signature and a few others) also they generally put the bare system minimum in to keep the price down, a normal system will have approx three detectors, external siren /strobe, internal screamer and keypad, will cost approx $1250 with no contracts. I suggest you go with a no contract system. the perimeter armed syste is also a good option , it allows you to turn the system on when asleep, added cost though. the systems I would recommend to you are Ness, Hills, Ademco, there may be other good ones but these are the ones I install, any further queries , whim me Telecommunications systems, computer Networks and Security systems. Re: Alarm Options - 4 X 2 in perth 6Sep 07, 2010 2:16 pm just to give u an idea of the price, the company I work for has a basic package which is $990 including, which is 2 PIR's internal/External sirens, keypad, NX 8 panel. Each extra PIR is roughly $100 extra, thats with no contracts or any hidden catches. Just be careful, you should never have to sign a contract for Security, if you are locked into a contract all you are going to be doing is paying off your alarm multiple times over. As for monitoring the majority of companies charge $1 a day, if anyone is charging more you can definetly get it cheaper elsewhere, hopefully this helped Standard uninsulated double brick has an R value of around 0.7. An insulated standard 90mm stud timber frame can have an R value of around 2.7.
