Re: Recommend a CCTV System to me - 4 Cameras ? 9Dec 02, 2012 6:24 pm a few basics... you need to start with the infrastructure, all Security systems are now IP based (no more coax) so you'll essentially be running cat 5 to each camera, I generally run two cat 5's to each location, if it's a corner, 3 (you can get POE powered IR leds which is how you illuminate at night without irritating your neighbors & how you avoid massive power bills) I've used xprotect and it's great highly recommended, just buy yourself a POE switch and it'll power the camera's and illuminators Slooowwwwly getting a Manhatten 35 in Middleton Grange It's all about wireless, self install now.
