I am having a look at whether or not to put electric switches on the doors. My motivation: keyless entry + integrating into home automation (eg: button at bedside to lock all doors, remote unlocking from intercom). However everything I've seen only refers to automatic latches. What about items like deadbolts? Where do these fit in to the remote control world?
Leaving aside usage considerations, one of the purposes I see a deadbolt in having is adding a second attachment point from the door to the frame, to help prevent kicking-in attacks. Having a single powered latch doesn't provide this strength - or are there other ways around it?
I'd like to hear some advice/experience so I can hit up the local security shops a little better informed.
