Browse Forums Safer Living 1 Jan 05, 2010 6:36 am Hi...can anyone recommend a Crimsafe installer in Brisbane? We have 5 windows that we want to use Crimsafe on. We know that Crimsafe can be expensive so any recommendations would be appreciated!! Re: Crimsafe in Brisbane 5Feb 12, 2011 10:28 pm Sorry if this is a bit too late to add to the conversation. We were recommended Davcon - and their quote seemed reasonable - $6500 for our entire house windows and doors. Some company that had a display at the Ekka - they said they were 'Crimsafe' but the quote had some other company name which I can't remember quoted over $24,000 and 'and that special price would depend if they had enough of our prefered colours, yada yada yada' - then offered to beat our quote from Davcon by 10% - couldn't believe the gall. Tried to get a quote from Franklyn but the salesman was so rude I actually asked him to leave my home. Will definately be going with Davcon! Re: Crimsafe in Brisbane 8Aug 12, 2012 6:41 pm We ended up going with Invisiguard through Budget Blinds, Awnings & Security (thanks to a tip on the forums!). Such great service, quickest to quote and about 40% less than our most expensive quote. Going by the huge difference in price in the quotes ($4k difference between the most expensive and the cheapest), I get the feeling that some of the places pray on people that have no idea on what security screens should cost. Re: Crimsafe in Brisbane 9Sep 09, 2012 9:12 pm I've had quotes from Marlin Security, Davcon and Alcom Security. While we havent installed yet, we will be going with either of the first two. From my experience I would suggest everyone give Alcom a big miss. There starting price was $34k, they gave us there home show discount (17.5%) as we saw them there which came down to $28k. HE said he could come down a bit more (approx $1500) depending on the colour. I was just so shocked at the price I just thanked him and thought oh well , no crimsafe for us. I then arranged a couple of other quotes. After getting these other quotes I told Alcom they were way off and if they wanted a chance then put in there best price otherwise thanks for there time. about a month later they came down to $15k. The other two submitted 1 quote each(within 24 hours) and were both about $12k. Marlin isnt crimsafe, but Prowler Proof, but he said he could do crimsafe for same price if thats what i wanted. Davcon was crimsafe. Both Marlin & Davcon spent a good amount of time on phone explaining things(not bagging other products) on the phone initially and I had my quote within 24hrs, unlike Alcom which I requested my quote late June and got their best price in early September. I'll be going one of these two and would definitely recommend anyone get a quote from either Marlin or Davcon.
