Just wondering if anybody can recommend a local locksmith or company to fit window locks and locks for sliding patio doors? Also, I have a remote control roller door on the garage, but do you think I should get a deadlock fitted to the door which goes from the garage into the house too? tia! Did you get the locks done through your builder or after the fact? If it was after, how much did it cost and what kind of locks are they? I'd definitely have a deadlock fitted on the door from your garage into the house. The garage door is a security weakspot. You could also accidently leave it open when leaving the house one day Another tip is to have the bolt-type locks installed into your sliding door. The ones that bolt into the upper frame. These might be cheaper and just as effective as a deadlock. We installed these after our rear sliding door was broken into a few days after we had moved in .... ... It's amazing how easy it is to bend the aluminium framing on doors and windows enough to dis-engage a lock and slide the thing right open. For windows (if you have the aluminium sliding ones), I wouldn't bother with the bolt-type locks - a simple piece of dowel cut to size to fit into the track will stop any attempt to slide the window open. It just means you have to lift it out to open your windows - no drama. Yep definately should, we have three doors from the garage. One side door which exit to the front yard, one to the house and the other to the backyard each has two locks and an alarm senor. With all my internal windows done by A and L windows(the sliding windows) I have placed a small metal(which is removable) in the middle for extra protection.Anyway, at the end of the day if they really want to get in they will find other ways to get in. Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6884 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45547 Hi We have finally decided to complete a KDR on our corner plot in NE Melbourne suburbs.
