There are security doors and security doors. If you want real security you will need one with a stainless mesh. I won't mention the brands as that only adds cost and you can pay up to $600 per door. If you are in Melbourne try Timbarra Screens in Melverton Drive, Hallam - sorry don't know the tel no. They really know their stuff and really care and you will get a better price. Ed Re: Security Screen Doors 3May 04, 2007 9:55 am i second the stainless steel mesh doors. We didn't really want a door with the grill over the mesh so have gone for S/S mesh - we're paying about $600 per door.
Sec doors with the grill and ordinary mesh are about $300 mark but you can upgrade to a slightly stronger mesh for an $100. sorry don't know much about the brands. we've just purchased our doors thru a company in Keilor (melb) - the sales guy was super helpful and can definately recommend. I'd be interested in knowing who you went to Rose. I'm in Keilor too and I'll be looking for new doors in the next few months. If all you can see are obstacles, you have lost sight of the goals Re: Security Screen Doors 8Jun 30, 2007 2:02 pm uncle_ant Hi All I could add is that any decent security door must have tripple hinges for strength. Tony No need - just ask if it has been tested - the number of hinges is not really important. Ed If I write "I" please read "We"! Be good. Re: Security Screen Doors 9Jul 20, 2007 9:14 am Had dealings with Timbarra in the last few years and would suggest you consider other suppliers also
