Browse Forums Safer Living 1 May 21, 2009 3:37 pm Hi, I was after some recommendations for an alarm system for back-to-base monitoring. The catch is that I didn't want to install a phone service to allow monitoring of the system. I was intending to install Naked DSL to the house, so that is an option. Another option is to get an alarm system that has an inbuilt mobile phone, and it could register with the base that way. Does anybody know about any alarm systems that can do either of these? I'm looking for something that can cover a 20 square place, probably a minimum of 3-4 sensors (based on entrances I have). I'm after specific models are hopefully some rough costs. Thanks, Ian Re: Recommendations for back-to-base alarm without a phone line 3Jan 18, 2010 5:40 pm g'day i install ness alarm systems and they can be set-up to dial through a mobile phone.. ive never had anyone ask me to do it before... but the person who trained me has done one.. many years ago now a complete basic system including 3 wired sensors should be around $900.00 to $1100.00 dont pay any more.. lots of security companies charge insane prices. then you will have your add ons to set up the wirelss part.. the particular system you would require would be a NESS D8x ( this is the panel only ) which can accomodate up to 8 zones. ( can also include a combination of wireless and wired zones ) also can be set-up for keyless entry for your house... turning garden lights on... etc etc.... so many feautres in these units and then you will need your pir's ( sensors ) keypads exterior horn strobe and interior screamer.. go to this website... www.fmsecurity.com.au or give them a call i get all my alarm and cctv supplies through them.. they are in dandenong in victoria. they are EXTREMELY helpful and will go the extra mile. i hope this helped a lil bit infact clipsal buy these units and re-badge them as 'homesafe' and place a hefty price tag on them..
