Browse Forums Increasing Home Value 1 Nov 24, 2015 8:39 pm Hi, I am new to this game and I'd really like some suggestions on how to update the exterior of our recently purchased highset 70s brick home. It is on a corner block, not too bad on the inside but very shabby and ugly on the outside. My thoughts include putting up a solid fence, replacing the guttering, painting the window trim, balustrade and garage doors and some landscaping but I'm not sure about colours and whether painting the garage doors will be enough or if they should be replaced altogether. Guttering is currently dark green. The roof is a shade of green but looks more grey. What to use if we replace the retaining wall? Anything else we could do? We probably don't have the budget to render unless we did it ourselves. We could maybe paint but I'm not sure how that would look.
