I like real wooden floors but even when I have polished floors I still carpet the bedrooms. Re: Floating floors in bedrooms 3Dec 18, 2011 8:46 am No, wouldn't turn us off. If you sell, the new owners can put a rug down if they dont like it. We're about to put floating floors in our 3 minor bedrooms. Re: Floating floors in bedrooms 5Jan 23, 2012 8:48 pm lastone Would this turn you off a house? I'm referring to the uni click type product. Hi lastone, Great question. We get asked this one everyday! Generally, the majority of installations we do would have hard floors in living areas only, be it timber, laminate, vinyl or tiles and the vast majority of people Australia wide prefer carpet in their bedrooms. There isn't a hard and fast rule, but if you are interested in resale at a later date, then we would say go with the forumula that works for most people and you will find more acceptance from buyers when it comes time to sell your home. Actually, carpet is and has been for some time, making a big comeback in terms of its use in living areas too. As the popularity of multi level dwellings increases, home owners are more and more interested in the acoustic benefits of carpet in up stairs living areas as well as bedrooms. Coupled with an increase in "kids play areas", where parents prefer carpet for both acoustic benefits and also safety, or the popular "theatre room" that always has to have carpet (or it will sound like a hall), carpet is growing in popularity again. Best wishes for your project.
