Thanks Re: Porter Davis - delayed the guaranteed site start 3Jul 02, 2009 1:54 pm ohh they said they are too busy and cant put me in the july start slot........i did not sign the contract cause i was asked to sign it in June...so i told them to that i will sign it in july then...do get more from the grant....as they have delayed it anyways.. Re: Porter Davis - delayed the guaranteed site start 4Jul 02, 2009 9:08 pm yes you will get a larger grant if you sign in July. Id be signing now before they bump your start date to beyond the 20 week time frame from signing to actually get the grant. Id be bugging your conveyancer about the grant and how to go about it properly. It's worth quite a bit of $$$ Re: Porter Davis - delayed the guaranteed site start 5Jul 02, 2009 10:41 pm Miss Alison...........Thanks for the morale support.......just going to sign the contract next week.....if you have any tips ......about what should i take care before signing..... Re: Porter Davis - delayed the guaranteed site start 6Jul 02, 2009 11:31 pm Mostly, that the the date from signing to the date when the slab is poured is less than 20 weeks! Re: Porter Davis - delayed the guaranteed site start 7Jul 27, 2009 11:32 am hi does a convveyancer play a part when building a home? i did ask mine after she helped with my buying my land. she said i am not required to have a conveyancer when building a home only if buying land. is this right? so does that mean, iif i go thru Metricon for eg. they will sort out the first home owner grant? thanks Re: Porter Davis - delayed the guaranteed site start 8Jul 27, 2009 6:29 pm We are currently experiencing a similar thing with PD at the moment. We first bought the house back in March and we signed a Fixed Price Agreement which was a guaranteed Site Start for July. If the Site start was pushed to September, we would have to pay an extra $3000. We signed our contract on the 1st of June and the site start was going to be 31st July (LATEST) and still no Site start date on the horizon - something to do with the permit (I seem to be doing all the work following it up not the builder). The little * next to the guaranteed site start with the conditions covers them so it is really a bunch of CRAP! At this stage it is August. I sent my CSC a very strong email this morning to tell them we would not accept for the site start to be delayed any further and that they basically needed to get off their *** and get it done and if it was pushed to September they are not getting a cent out of us! We used a conveyancer for our land but there has been no need with the builder. They are taking care of all of the legal aspects. We are building with PD. We put down our initial deposit in Feb for a July/August start date and paid the $1500 price guarantee, which would be another $1500 if we started in September. Nothing actually happened by the end of August and I was naturally agitated that we would be expected to fork out another $1500. What we were told is that the "site administration" had started in August and thus we were not liable for any extra cost. The 20 week construction period has started for us from the 31st of August, although at this stage the only thing that's been done is putting up the temporary fence and some clearing of the site. Re: Porter Davis - delayed the guaranteed site start 11Nov 15, 2009 2:36 pm Hi everyone...anyone who has already started building with Porter Davis, how long did it take for your site start?? we were told by our Administrator that it will take 1 month. However, with Carlisle and Henley and few other builders it takes 2 weeks. Pls do let me know if any of you who are building with Porter Davis how long it took to begin construction...thanks Hi, My home construction is complete, and the handover is scheduled next week. However the construction has been delayed and I have raised this to the builder.
