My question was about possible shoring methods for temporarily retaining the dirt, WHILE I AM REMOVING THE OLD WALL and BUILDING THE REPLACEMENT. I note a neighbour, just removed all the dirt and then rebuilt the wall....luckily the dirt beside the excavation reposed at a steep angle and didn't move until the had finished the new retaining wall. I am thinking I would prefer to treat the dirt before excavation to reduce the likelyhood of the dirt sliding toward the partially constructed wall... or to use a physical retention method while the wall is being constructed.
