Sold up and moved to TASMANIA, brought 24 acres and are prepping for owner builder. Any advice would be great. We purchased the land straight out and have about 30k-40k after clearing 5 acres. So we’ll have to look at finance. Husband is a gas fitter/plumber/tiler/roofer/skilled handyman. So a lot of work will be done by us (except the painting, plastering and electrical which will be done at mates rates...thank god for trade mates). I’m hoping this means we will save a lot of money but I’m still worried about finance tbh cause you just never know. It’s a big build, 6 bedrooms, library, office...about 373m2. The size worries me but we also don’t want to compromise as we have 4 kids who are homeschooled and we hated living in a 3 bedroom duplex. So yeah...exciting but nerve racking.
