Re: 1st time ob what a ride 364May 28, 2011 3:08 am omg memphis thx for that luckily the pink stuff was too expensive so we didnt get it but boy have i been on a spending spree we now have kitchen cupboards, laundry cupboards, sinks, vanity, taps, handles, paint, oven ,cooktop, rangehood, inverter reverse cycle a/c the most gorgeous bathroom mirror, hot water service, tv unit, skirting boards, lights and lots of bits and pieces. its been fun but now we have a tonne of work ahead getting everything done all the ceilings need to be painted on the weekend as the sparkys coming monday-tuesday to install all the lights and power points the race is on kay lets do it for the queens birthday weekend wooohoooo will post pics as things get done stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 365Jun 05, 2011 8:52 pm well the sparky didnt turn up last week and the paintings taking way longer then i thought mainly due to the fact i wont let hubby touch the paint im very anal retentive at runs or lines or bumps and lumps in painted walls so its definately taking a long time 4 coats 2 undercoats and 2 top coats but ive finished the kitchen/lounge,master bedroom and all robes 2 more days and it should all be finished. it looks really good so happy ive done the extra coat.and hopefully the sparky will come this week fingers crossed. stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 366Jun 14, 2011 10:35 pm well no sparky again this week the janurary floods have caused havoc getting tradies around here but one thing were not short on is MICE omg literally millions of them we killed 33 in half a day we gave up at 1pm we figured they won. well the paintings pretty much done a few bits n pieces but here are the pics. the hallway feature wall Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ master bedroom feature wall Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ the kitchen feature wall Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ then we got our vanity and huge reverse cycle a/c 7.5kw Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ then we finally done our bunnings laundry cupboards and omg their absolutely gorgeous we do the kitchen tomorrow Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 367Jun 15, 2011 12:35 pm Looking good and getting sooo close, shame about the sparky but it is understandable considering the floods. I did have a laugh, as we are in the throws of our laundry as well. Your cupboards look fab! Did you eventually get your kitchen from bunnings? I have only heard good things abut them and they look fab! Re: 1st time ob what a ride 369Jun 17, 2011 10:56 am kayandandy Looking good Shelly! I did have a laugh, as we are in the throws of our laundry as well. Your cupboards look fab! Did you eventually get your kitchen from bunnings? I have only heard good things abut them and they look fab! thx kay yeah we went with bunnings the laundry cupboards are bunnings too they sting you for the end bits but it looks really good and no where near 12 grand from kitset all up with laundry and kitchen and benchtops looks around 5 grand havnt added it all up yet got the laundry bench as an off cut (thx for tip kay) paid $139 kitchen bench was a big difference but exactly what i wanted its 3610x2315 and paid $957 but its gonna look awesome stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 370Jun 17, 2011 10:29 pm That is awesome for kitchen and laundry. I am glad I was of some use to you!!!! Looking forward to seeing the bench top for kitchen. We are so near each other in terms of where we are in the house. I cant believe how long this journey takes and how we have managed to fit it all in amongst busy lives!!!! I look forward to having enough time to plan decent meals! I have started to buy curtains now. It gets real when one is at that stage. My lavender walls are startign to cause a problem with curtains. I had already ordered all the fabric our bedroom but it certianly wont go with the paint. Luckily upstairs is painted white so the fabric can go there. Spotlight had a special on curtians yesterday so I got some for my sons room. My daughters curtains are in the same lot as my curtains (being shipped from UK) and I am hoping will not cause a drama with lavender!!!! I have ordered samples of string curtians for the lounge room. Hoping they have the right colour for me!!! Now I just need the final bits of painting, door hanging, alfresco, flooring and then all over red rover!!!! WHEW!!! k Re: 1st time ob what a ride 371Jul 01, 2011 2:30 am lol kay it is getting very exciting hey well were still waiting on our electrician but he came over today to look around and its definately monday and finished by wed which means we move in wed night woooohooooo ive finished tiling the laundry and we install the kitchen tomorrow so excited cant wait to see my benchtops they will be here around 4pm tomorrow so next week is it the big day has finally arrived still heaps to do but will be easier to get motivated once living there. will take some pics real soon.yipppeeeeeeeeeee stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 372Jul 15, 2011 12:04 am ok bit of an update sparky didnt come on the monday grrr so went and seen him yet again and was told we will be there tues and wont leave till we finish yeah so tues the apprentice turns up works 5 hrs got a few lights in a few points in then leaves next day i have to go to bendigo for my final doctors appointment for my leg yippee get to bendigo 134kms only to be told ummm its next wed love grrrrrrrr some shopping therapy and im ok drive home ready to move into new house but still no sparky hmmm ok lets just move in anyway run an extension cord through window a few plug boards joined together fridge on tv on (video only) lamp on all sweet. thursday apprentice turns up for another 5 hrs a few more lights a few more points but still no power. monday comes no sparky tues no sparky not happy jan. weds back to bendigo for docs oh lets see u need another op on your leg oh just ffffffffff wonderful. back home still no sparky finally thurs 3pm apprentice turns up gone by 5.30pm in the meantime we decide to install all the downlights to save time luckily it did but we stopped for lunch and i unplugged the extension lead and zapppp firrrre ouch yep electrocuted and burnt my hand could this get any worse lol luckily only minor burns to my left palm and a nice free frizzy hair do lol we have no idea how long the sparky will be but we have a new extension cord and not running the tv anymore just the fridge and a light just in case. on a brighter note the kitchens in and looks amazing master bedrooms done sons rooms done toilet nearly done and even living like luxury campers is way better then living with mice. i have a tonne of pics to upload and have been trying for days but they just wont work no idea why ive tried photobucket and flikr but no luck hopefully we will have proper power by the weekend and i can figure out pics grrrrrrr might have to email them to one of you guys to put them on here lol anyway im buggered so off to bed now stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 373Jul 15, 2011 12:15 am OMG you must be sooo p******!
