What a super job - BTW we have the same benchtop in our kitchen with silver/grey cupboards - looks fab! Your journey is in the home strait - mine is just about to begin, but I have several pages of notes/costings/ideas and 'don't do this' from reading your posts - thanks in advance. cheers purplegirl Re: 1st time ob what a ride 345Apr 22, 2011 10:37 am Omg Shelly I have missed so much. Well done on the certificate. So pleased it is all coming together for you. You. Ust be so pleased! Re: 1st time ob what a ride 346Apr 25, 2011 10:45 am thx guys ive worked out a temporary solution as money is tight and we need to move in asap kitset wanted 9300 for kitchen and laundry ive redisgned both and can buy just the shells at bunnings for 2758 for both kitchen and laundry then source the benchtops elsewhere then eventually week by week buy a door here and there until its finished. not going to save a bundle but frees up money for plumbing and hot water as long as cupboards and benches are in for sinks and stove and tiling to be done for power points it should work out. stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 347Apr 26, 2011 10:29 pm woohoo finally school hols are over and we can get back to working on the house. i begin painting tomorrow all plastering finished the plasterer wants me to put 1 coat of undercoat then he will come back and check for any imperfections fix them then thats it we can install everything get the power on and finally move in completely.getting closer everyday. stay safe happy building Re: 1st time ob what a ride 348Apr 26, 2011 11:42 pm I am not sure if you have the same lot over east but I am buying a benchtop direct from lamnex tomorrow and it is not too expensive. We managed to get a display kitchen which was excellent value. You could always do a ring around for that. My mum also got one and it was a DREAM kithen. Your purple paint story made me chuckle. We have ahd the same bloodything happen to us. I chose the paint off a swatch and it looked grey. Andy went mental ... it looks and is bloody purple. We have got ourselves a purple house!!!!!!! Cant believe how well youhave done! Awesome! I wish my budget looked like yours! Take Tonys advice too. WE were offered ex display kitchens by two cabinet makers ... the waste in teh building industry amazes me. My project manager was telling me that if bricks are left over on site they chuck them away ... awful.
