For a double storey house what should the gap be for an internal wall and roof truss?
Does the above have any requirement of gyprocking using a square set?
Thanks

Re: Roof truss and internal walls 15May 07, 2018 11:47 pm Thanks for the reply Yes, will attach photo of internal walls The point that I am trying to make with a 35mm gap between the truss and the top of the internal wall. With square set gyprock the ceiling gyprock will be locked to the wall. Re: Roof truss and internal walls 16May 08, 2018 10:08 am The trusses ->Ceiling battens ->Ceiling Gyprock may move/deflect (ever so slightly) vertically not horizontally The cornices interface (flexible cornice glue ) between the Wall & Ceiling also should allow for slight vertical movement/deflection The cornices aren't designed to hold/brace the top of the walls for that there should be shear Connections/Block BTW the above photos look OK for what is visible of the external Load bearing walls..more photos OT If you don't know what to photograph then leave a message.. Seriously it is important you get photos for your own reference benefit Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Roof truss and internal walls 19May 08, 2018 11:42 pm Try ShadowLine ceilings on trusses Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Roof truss and internal walls 20May 21, 2018 8:44 pm StructuralBIMGuy Try ShadowLine ceilings on trusses Gyprock will start next week. The gyprock sheets are 1350 Ground floor height 2750 and upstairs 2740 Will be using two sheets and will be 40 to 50mm short at the bottom. Ground floor sand and cement 35mm. Upstairs timber floor 18mm. Does anyone see a problem with the above? Thanks It's hard to comment as the photos area bit dark ( you might need a new 15 - just got one and wow ) Jokes aside, I can see one member that is cracked.
