Is it cheaper of more expensive ? To me, it looks very similar to post and beam construction. There are good reasons why dwellings are built one way and garages the other. A garage home will always be a shack and won't have the resale value and it is doubtful whether there will be any savings for you. Recently I looked at one which looked good on photos but on close inspection there was nothing good about it, it just spoiled a good block of land. I'm more interested if the frame itself is similar to a post and beam style house rather than if it makes sense or not, as well as if it's more or less expensive. I feel a garage frame can be nicely clad and fitted out, I don't mean for it to be clad like a garage and looking like a garage. Resale value wouldn't concern me as it would be my final home. They need to be battened out for the interior lining. So you might as well construct the wall with the correct materials to begin with. Only benefit of steel is the higher ceiling that you can get as opposed to timber I think. First, take a look at the photo. Its rural. Most councils will approve shed homes for rural, but not urban. The reasons they occur in rural is manyfold
Fitted out properly they are every bit as good as a standard house. I ve been in one and properly lined they fuction perfectly as a small home. isn't a garage level with the rest of the house a given? pretty sure they 'came around' long time ago. if you have a flat block, the garage is usually level with the rest… 1 17528 It sounds like you have a crack in your garage where the wall meets the ceiling, along the shadow line on the… 0 17202 |
