Lay a slab, brick up 1500mm walls, fit a top with an accessable hatch, instal the deck over. Rainwater tank installed, out of sight! Re: BUILDING LAP POOL 8Feb 16, 2011 11:49 pm i saw a guy do his own pool on a renovating show it ended up costing him dble what the pool company quoted him unless you know exactly what your doing be very careful it may seem easy but its very technical and could cause major problems if not done properly and you get leaks. if cost is a factor try getting quotes on fiberglass ones or find a pool guy and make him your best mate lol good luck stay safe happy building Re: BUILDING LAP POOL 9Feb 18, 2011 8:52 am If you are serious you can build the frame in this style, (This construction method is how the Vinyl liner companies go about it anyway) Once completed go get a Vinyl liner built to size and installed. Max depth is about 1.2m which is plenty for a lap pool Had a bricky mate do this himself and saved a lot of $$$$ Do a bit of research on Vinyl lined pools and see if it suits your needs. For what it is worth I am having a vinyl lined pool installed for ourselves so I do think they are alright.
