(no more socialising over the weekends from now me thinks....) and after 3 days (ok possible 3 half days ) this is what it looks like; Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So I got all of the bottom plates down for all of the walls, and all of the timber nailed to the steel posts. As well as all of the main supports along the rear and front that are holding the house up, so I could remove the acroprops and send them back... Now this weekend I'll be powering along as I've got a 4 day weekend (I love flex leave! ) I'm aiming at haveing all external framework finished and possible having it wrapped... Though I may leave that till mid week as I only get about an hour of light left by the time I get home after work, so it's something that doesn't need much set/pack up. Re: My New...ish house in Toowoomba build story 23Aug 28, 2008 7:14 pm Hi everyone! I'm about a week behind in my posts so I'll show you what I got up to last weekend!!!!

But I must say that I did have help with the lifting of the lintels and securing them in place! Thanks Bro!.... So Here is the pics for last weekend.... But I don't have any pics for you just yet. (thats the problem with being an owner builder during winter, you try and get as much work as you can while you still have light!) So I'll post them later in the week! Cya's all later! Re: My New...ish house in Toowoomba build story 24Aug 28, 2008 7:14 pm here is the latest pics for everyone!! enjoy

Re: My New...ish house in Toowoomba build story 25Aug 28, 2008 7:14 pm Well It's been a few weeks so here is what I'm up to;
All framing as been done (bar the wall that incloses the stairs and the wall from the garage to the stair cavity till the stairs are put in) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ House has been completly wrapped. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Next is to finish putting the tiles back on and to rebuild the southern end of the roof so that it is a dutch gable instead of a normal gable. and replacing the sheeting on the north gable. Stairs should be have been started ths week while I'e been away and should be in by next week, which will help with the laying of the cement sheeting for the deck. after the north gable has been resheeted then the power can be conneted to the meter box. Although my electrical is getting done instages, the first being 3 phase mains to meter box and 15 amp circuit (and possible the 3 phase circuit as well) Re: My New...ish house in Toowoomba build story 26Aug 28, 2008 7:37 pm ok now that I have transfer the old thread here.
This is what I've been up to. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Those silver tiles that you can see in the first pic are universal Tile Vents, they're a really cool idea from an aussie basicly they replace all the crap that gets put on a roof such as wurly bird and vent pipes that make the roof line look bad al you do is replace a normal tile with one and hook a pipe via an adapter to th back of it and they do ones for tin rooves as well. Anyway for anyone interested here is the web site. www.universaltile.com.au Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ this was the stage I was up to yesterday. today I had to come home early cause the window guys got mixed up and turned up a day early so I had to get home to let them in and secure the downstairs windows under cover. and while I was hanging around I climbed up and knocked over a few more rows so now I've just layed another row on western side and upto the 3 row from the top on the eastern side and the universal tile vents in on that row as well and got them all tied off. so tomorrow arvo I would like to get that part of the roof done so I can start to rip the tiles of the southern part so I can start rebuilding that section over the weekend. this weekend I would like to have the south roof buiilt and all of my new windows in and finish the last fey joist on the deck. Monday the stairs get put in so after I can walk on them Im going t obe shifting my fridge from upstairs to some where out of the way downstairs befor the rails get put in and life gets difficult again. then move the sheeting for the deck upstairs.
