Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Other then the roofing I got the pastering on the ensuit ceiling done and it turned out quite well, even if it did take me a while to get it smooth. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Today the roofers where giving the roof a clean and tomorrow they will do the pointing. Tonight when I get home I'll finish the painting and start marking out for the tiles to go in in the next few days. My Owner still Building thread viewtopic.php?t=9026 Re: My New...ish house in Toowoomba build story 54Aug 05, 2009 8:19 pm Ok I finished off the painting (Which has been getting done after midnight when I get home) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The paints I'm useing for the house are Solver, the colours for the bathroom/ensuite ceilings and cornice are Silver Water (White) and Charcoal (Gray). Then I started on the wall tiles. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ but after a coat of paint and a row of tiles I decided to go to bed. I found that the roofers didn't quite finish yesterday like expected so came back this morning (A little to early for my liking when I'm on nightshift ) and finished off the roof. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As you can see they washed the whole roof before doing the pointing but I'm not going to get them back to paint the roof for probably 6-12 months (since having a nicely painted roof isn't part of the building permit it will be done last) and while the scaffolding was getting taken down I continued with last nights work and got the tiles that needed cutting done and a second row of tiles got put in place. Bifold's look so classy, I wan't them but worried about not having flyscreen doors with bugs etc. But yeah, very well done. thanks, I can't wait till it's all polished! but I have to finishe the plastering and painting before that..... you can get flyscreens for them they're like a roller blind so when the do is closed the case looks like part of the architrave but when you want the flyscreen you just pull it out and lock it in place. the big problems with them are that; 1. People walk through them, which knocks them out of the guides; 2. you have to hold it if you open the screen to walk through otherwise it rolls back up which can be a pain.
