Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Jun 13, 2017 3:33 pm Hi Everyone, I am planning to build by house as OB at Thornleigh and will be happy to manage it from my side from project managing, materials/purchasing, labor allocation sides, however, will be needing a reliable site supervisor who will be able to manage building process on site on a daily basis, performing quality/measurements/standards checks and providing daily reporting. Where and how would you usually hire Site Supervisors for short term residential projects? Thanks in advance WBR, Alex Re: Site supervisor 2Jun 26, 2017 10:46 am alexp79 You should organise it at the design & engineering stage tips 1.Get the Design in a Building Information Model (BIM) format as most designers use it 2.The 3D Model will allow you to extract Details , Data & Quants 3. Familiarize yourself with each stage Slab, Brickwork, Framing etc,etc 4. The 3D Model can be used on site thru apps & Mobile devices 5. I also recommend you find a SS that uses facetime 6. Keep Photo and Video records 7. Keep tight control of Material & Trade payments 8. Please post your "real projects" to help others If your require more info I can put stuff up..that will point you in the right direction leave a PM. OT BTW don't get sucked in with fake blogs and other feel good project sites, IMO, They are so far removed from reality it's becoming a joke Goodluck Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs because its not being managed properly. Also "properly" is too broad and too subjective a term to be able to pinpoint a single event as not being managed properly.… 1 2729 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 8264 |
