Browse Forums Owner Builder Forum 1 Aug 21, 2008 5:56 pm Hi all. I've only just stumbled upon this site. Its excellent, and I wish I'd found it sooner. I started a website for our build elsewhere, but thought I'd add one here for good measure. The full reports are here: http://hak.gwc134.net/Other/buangi%20lane/buangi01.htm But here's a quick summary of our house build so far: The land: http://hak.gwc134.net/Other/buangi%20la ... land_1.jpg The plan: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The tank: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The shed: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The footings: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The posts: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The subfloor: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Frames and some roof: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And now with roof: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And as it stands now with windows in: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We're owner building so its taking a little while. But our target is to be in by Christmas, which we're still on track for at the moment. Except number 2 child is due in early October, so hopefully that won't affect the schedule too much As we go along I'll stick up a few more photos. And no doubt I'll be finding some questions to be asking too! Thanks for looking. Cheers, Pete viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8824 Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 4Aug 21, 2008 8:02 pm Wow that looks great. It's going to be a nice house when it is finished. Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 5Aug 22, 2008 10:47 am I'm wishing it was all finished at the moment too. But I guess as long as progress is being made we'll get there in the end. Cheers, Pete viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8824 Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 7Aug 26, 2008 5:10 pm We finally got to do some cladding on the weekend. I'm loving how it looks. Can't wait for it all to be done, but we need our french door jambs and front and back doors in before we do too much more.

The western one which is great cause that is where the wind comes from.

I love the rooflines. What colour is your roof, it looks different shades in the pics. probably just strong sunlight. LOL
Joanne Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 11Sep 01, 2008 4:59 pm Thanks Joanne. Glad it looks like its moving fast, it feels like its taking forever
The roof is Ironstone too. Cheers, Pete viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8824 Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 12Sep 15, 2008 2:18 pm Last week we got a carpenter to put our doors in for us. Thanks heaps to Luke for sorting us out with some door sills too, they worked a treat. Now we just need to sort out the door handles. Who would have thought that'd be so hard!

We'll need a couple more weekends to get it all sorted, but its all planned out now. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And in the meantime we're still plugging away with the cladding. Cheers, Pete viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8824 Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 14Sep 24, 2008 10:46 am Only 2 walls of cladding to go now! Just the one meters off the ground at the front, and the biggest on along the back, but hey, its still only 2.

I don't know anything about technical things ..... but I know it looks great. What a fantastic spot..... (bit jealous.. ) Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 17Oct 02, 2008 2:06 pm We're o-so-close with the cladding. We would have knocked it over yesterday, but we hadn't taken enough boards down. Only a few more to go.

We still don't have a time off them which is not real helpful. Cause the septic is being delivered in the morning too. I bet we end up with 2 trucks trying to get in and out at once. And there are thunderstorms predicted for the afternoon too, so we need to get all the gyprock inside asap! Anyone wanna come help carry some Cheers, Pete viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8824 Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 18Oct 02, 2008 2:39 pm Pete,
Can't believe how fast it's gone up. Although I sure it does not seem that way to you. Really looking good. Cheers Joanne Re: Our Kitome Glenbrook - Garage Roof On 20Oct 02, 2008 3:36 pm Looking back at the blog I guess it has been pretty quick. Just sitting here during the week has made it seem like its dragging on a bit. Might not make Christmas, especially depending how the new baby treats us.
And yep. The wife could pop any day now. Due on the 6th, so getting really close now!
